Hooks, TX — May 29, 2024, LaKeith Williams was killed and Valerie Kay and Demetrias Fowler were injured in a car accident at around 8:15 a.m. on I.H. 30.
According to authorities, three people—24-year-old Valerie Kay, 25-year-old Demetrias Fowler, and 25-year-old LaKeith Williams—were traveling in an eastbound Land Rover on Interstate 30 near Hooks, Texas, when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Preliminary reports state that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Land Rover failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered off of the roadway where it overturned, rolling an unknown number of times before coming to a stop.
Williams was killed as a result of the accident and was declared deceased at the scene. Both Kay and Fowler suffered injuries of unknown severity; they were each transported to local medical facilities in order to receive necessary treatment.
