Pointe Coupee Parish, LA — June 27, 2023, Kymber Nezat and Albert Bordelon were killed and one was injured after an ambulance versus truck accident on Morganza Highway.
Authorities said that the incident happened in the Labarre area near the intersection of Morganza Highway (Highway 1) and Deaton Lane.

According to current reports, 28-year-old Kymber Nezat was operating an Acadian Ambulance going northbound along the highway. For reasons which are unclear, a collision occurred where the ambulance crashed with a Nissan Altima which was also going northbound. This caused the ambulance to go across the center line where it went into oncoming traffic and hit a Coca-Cola 18-wheeler head-on.
As a result of the collision, Nezat sustained fatal injuries. Details say she was pregnant at the time of the accident. A patient that was in the ambulance, identified as 82-year-old Albert Bordelon, also succumbed to fatal injuries. One other occupant in the ambulance had injuries described as severe while the Nissan driver and the 18-wheeler driver had apparently moderate injuries.
Right now, there are no additional details about the cause of the crash. Investigations are ongoing.
