Dallas, TX — June 27, 2024, Kimberly Mathis and a child were injured following a multi-car accident at around 10:30 p.m. along U.S Highway 67.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened on southbound lanes of the Marvin D. Love Freeway in the area of West Wheatland Road.

Officials said that 59-year-old Kimberly Mathis was in a Nissan Versa going along the freeway. Ahead, it appears a Jeep Commander and a Hyundai Elantra collided when one of them merged lanes. Mathis reportedly could not avoid the Hyundai as a result, and those vehicles collided, as well.
As a result of the accident, Mathis and a child who was riding in the Hyundai had serious injuries. All others involved may have had possible minor injuries.

Right now, authorities say they can’t determine who is at fault for the crash. Maybe they’ve made progress behind the scenes, but if not, that’s a frustrating reality that many face after a serious car accident. Why does it happen so often though?
Frankly, authorities have a lot on their plates. That often means that things like traffic accidents fall low on their list of priorities. If officers don’t have the right equipment, proper training, or enough time to look closely at evidence surrounding a crash, they may end up having to go with their gut. That leaves many victims and families looking for outside help to pick up the slack and clear up what authorities may have left murky. So while it isn’t clear what led to this crash exactly, there’s a decent chance the evidence is out there to find out. It’s just a matter of getting someone who will look for it.
