El Paso, TX — May 19, 2024, Kimberly Espinoza was killed as the result of a car accident at around 3:00 a.m. along Lee Trevino Drive.
Authorities said in preliminary details that the crash happened near the intersection of Lee Trevino and Vista Del Sol Drive.
Investigators said that 21-year-old Kimberly Alissa Espinoza was on foot at the time. While walking, it appears a Jeep Cherokee Hit Espinoza. As a result, Espinoza ultimately succumbed to her injuries. The driver involved allegedly left the scene but was arrested and reportedly charged for collision involving death. Right now, no further information is available.

One thing I have yet to see from authorities is why they think the driver fled here. Often, it’s not simple panic but rather a specific factor the driver doesn’t want police to find out about. Did they have warrants? Was the vehicle stolen? Could drunk driving be a factor? Depending on the answer, there could be more to answer to than just leaving the scene of an accident. If nothing else, there’s a family out there who deserves to know they’re getting the whole story.
