San Marcos, TX — March 17, 2023, Kevin Orlando Gonzalez was killed following a car accident that occurred along Highway 123.
Preliminary details about the crash said that the incident happened at approximately 12:42 a.m. along Highway 123 at the intersection of Wonder World Drive.
According to officials, 23-year-old Kevin Gonzalez was in a Chevy Malibu traveling along the highway access road. At the intersection, his vehicle somehow crashed with a westbound vehicle on Wonder World.
Due to the collision, Gonzalez sustained fatal injuries. It’s unclear if the other driver was hurt.

In their reports, authorities said the surviving driver told them Gonzalez ran a red light, but they also there were no other witnesses. I have to wonder if that has changed or if authorities were able to confirm the claim that the victim made a mistake.
Put simply, the information I’m seeing here is missing a huge piece of the puzzle: the victim’s side of the story. If police just base all of their facts on one person’s account of the events, they could easily miss something crucial. So who did have a green light? How fast were the vehicles going? Are there any witnesses police missed that might see these reports and come forward with new information?
One way or another, a young man lost his life. If he can’t defend himself, then it will be up to the evidence to make sure his side of the story gets attention, as well.
