Kevin Jenkins Injured in Alleged Intoxicated Driver Accident in Harris County, TX

Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

There doesn’t seem to be much attention on this accident in the public, though folks may not think there’s anything more to discuss. After all, a driver is already facing charges. But intoxicated driving often involves multiple wrongdoers, particularly if alcohol was the intoxicant. Here in Texas, alcohol providers can also be held accountable if it’s found they over-served the drunk driver and contributed to the accident.

Unfortunately, it’s less common to see charges for alcohol providers because authorities tend to put all their focus on the drunk drivers. This often leaves it up to victims and families to take alternative paths to see all parties held accountable for the harm done to them. Perhaps authorities here simply haven’t finished their investigations, but waiting around to find out if they’re being thorough may only risk letting time-sensitive evidence deteriorate.
