Bailey Lakes, OH — September 12, 2024, Kenneth Wayne Derr was killed in a motorcycle versus truck accident shortly before 12:15 p.m. along U.S. 250.
According to authorities, 71-year-old Kenneth Derr was traveling on a northbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle on U.S. 250 in the vicinity of the County Road 758 intersection when the accident took place.
The motorcycle had apparently been traveling behind an International 18-wheeler. The truck reportedly slowed in preparation of making a left turn to head west on C.R. 758. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Harley-Davidson collided with the rear-end of the truck. Derr suffered critical injuries as a result of the wreck; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment and was later flown to an area hospital for additional care. However, he was ultimately unable to overcome the severity of his injuries, having there been declared deceased.
