When it comes to a multi-truck accident like this, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that investigations are bound to present significant challenges. There could be a lot more to this than just checking speed and braking data from the trucks or looking at cell phone records. Did this involve mechanical issues? Was there reckless driving influenced by a demanding employer? Was there another vehicle involved that the news failed to mention? Was there some kind of medical emergency? Common or not, investigations need to be able to consider all possibilities, otherwise the victims and families involved could find themselves still looking for answers that authorities may not be getting them.
