UPDATE (September 13, 2024): Recent details have been released which identify the man who lost his life as a result of this incident as Keith Strickland. It appears the driver who was injured due to the wreck is facing a charge for intoxication manslaughter. If that’s true, this could be a very complex scenario if it turns out alcohol was the intoxicant.

Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

At 2:45 a.m., it’s common for this sort of accident to be the result of someone who was unlawfully over-served by a local bar. So not only could there be a driver who will have to answer for their actions, there could also be an alcohol provider who needs to be held accountable for their role in a man losing his life.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the sort of thing authorities tend to look into on their own. Independent investigations into this accident could be necessary if the victim’s loved ones are going to get the answers they deserve.
