Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Hopefully authorities are able to give more information about a potential suspect, as getting information about a runaway driver into the public eye is one of the most helpful steps one can take following a hit-and-run. Have authorities looked into the area surrounding where this happened? There may have been a nearby residence with a doorbell camera or some similar camera setup that may have caught the incident on video. That may sound like an obvious detail, but I’ve had cases where authorities completely overlooked a security camera mere yards from an accident site. Things can slip through the cracks, and it can be worth the effort to double check that authorities haven’t missed anything that could help the victim’s loved ones get the answers they deserve.
