Corpus Christi, TX — September 17, 2024, Kayee Butts was killed and another person was injured in a car accident at about 7:00 a.m. on Old Brownsville Road.
According to authorities, 33-year-old Kayee Elizabeth Butts was traveling in a southbound motor vehicle along Old Brownsville Road in the vicinity of the Horne Road intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the motor vehicle failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered left of center, entering the northbound lane and colliding with an oncoming vehicle. Butts suffered fatal injuries as a result of the wreck, according to reports. The person who had been in the oncoming northbound vehicle sustained injuries of unknown severity and was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
