Liberty County, TX — November 3, 2023, Kasy Lee Mosley was injured following a car accident that happened around 5:50 p.m. along F.M. 163.
Authorities said in their statements that the crash occurred near the intersection of F.M. 163 and Highway 105.

It appears that 39-year-old Kasy Mosley was in a Nissan Armada going southbound on F.M. 163. The vehicle apparently went to the left before then going right. The vehicle went off-road where it crashed through a fence, causing the vehicle to overturn.
Mosley was taken from the scene with incapacitating injuries, authorities say. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
The cause of the crash has yet to be confirmed, but authorities mentioned looking into the possibility of alcohol. To be clear, though, some details make me skeptical they’re actually investigating this crash properly. Here’s why I say that.
Authorities say this accident may involve alcohol and could result in charges. At the same time, though, they make no indication of pending toxicology tests nor any kind of hint as to why authorities think alcohol could be a factor. Could it be they’re just jumping to conclusions?
Frankly, it would not be unusual for alcohol to be a factor here. For example, I’ve handled tons of single-vehicle wrecks that let to cases against a bar or a restaurant that illegally over-served the driver. It’s an all too common occurrence. As such, it’s only natural authorities might want to look into alcohol after just about any serious crash.
But there are also times where authorities are quick to blame a driver in their statements without actually knowing the whole story. They know things like speeding, alcohol, and distracted driving are common, but that bias leads them to overlook other possibilities. So when I see them discuss alcohol here without any sort of evidence to support the claim, I take it with a grain of salt. That’s something folks should keep in mind anytime they say statements like these where the facts are far from telling the whole story.
