Grimes County, TX — September 7, 2023, Karl Smith was killed in a single-vehicle accident in the evening hours on Highway 30 in Grimes County.
Investigators report the victim’s Ford F-250 was traveling east on Highway 30 navigating a curve near the intersection with C.R. 175 when his truck somehow left the road and collided with a utility pole.
Ford, Karl Smith, 50, was reportedly taken to a hospital, but later to the injuries sustained in the accident.
Reports indicate authorities have not determined the cause of the crash.
