Andrews County, TX — June 26, 2023, a Kansas man and an Odessa man were injured following an 18-wheeler accident at 10:14 p.m. along F.M. 1788.

According to information released by authorities, the incident took place near the intersection of Farm-to-Market 1788 and County Road 8000.

Investigators said that a 41-year-old Pittsburg, Kansas man was in a Dodge Ram 3500 that was going northbound along F.M. 1788. Authorities believe that truck attempted to make a u-turn from the right shoulder. While turning, a northbound 18-wheeler crashed into the side of the Kansas man’s truck.

As a result of the collision, the Kansas man sustained incapacitating injuries. Details suggest the 18-wheeler driver, a 24-year-old Odessa man, had non-incapacitating injuries. No other injuries were reported. At this time, there is indication that alcohol may have contributed to the crash. These details and others surrounding the crash are unconfirmed at this time.
