Titus County, TX — October 26, 2024, Kaige Watkins was killed and Precious Maybee was injured in a car accident at about 3:00 a.m. on Ferguson Road, U.S 271.
According to authorities, Kaige Watkins and Precious Maybee—both age 23—were traveling in a southbound Kia Sportage on West Ferguson approaching the Rotan Road intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the Sportage failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered to the right, leaving the active lanes of the highway and colliding with a light fixture before overturning. It rolled approximately three times before coming to a stop. Watkins suffered fatal injuries as a result of the wreck, according to reports, and was declared deceased at the scene. Reports also state that Maybee may have been hurt, as well, and was taken to a local medical facility for evaluation and any necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
