Jamestown, IN — December 15, 2023, Joven Brookshire was injured in a truck accident at approximately 5:30 in the evening along Interstate 69.
According to authorities, 44-year-old Joven Brookshire was traveling in a northbound 18-wheeler on Interstate 69 in the vicinity of the I-80 overpass when the accident took place.
An 18-wheeler in the lane ahead had activated its hazard lights and slowed to a stop due to an alleged medical emergency. For unknown reasons, the vehicle occupied by Brookshire did not change course, resulting in a collision with the rear end of the halted 18-wheeler. The collision caused the rear-ended 18-wheeler to catch fire and Brookshire was entrapped in the wreckage. Upon arrival, emergency workers extricated Brookshire and put out the flames. Brookshire was taken to a local medical facility in order to receive treatment for the reportedly serious injuries he incurred during the wreck. No other injuries have been reported in connection with this accident.
