How Did This Accident Occur?

Anytime I investigate a single-vehicle crash, I want to be sure all possible factors are at least ruled out. From distraction to road hazards to medical conditions to vehicle defects—if I’ve seen it happen before, I want to be sure investigators looked into. Authorities don’t always share this prudence, and unfortunately, motorcyclists tend to get the least benefit of the doubt.

A lot of people are inherently biased against motorcyclists, so they just assume the rider did something wrong before they’ve even looked at the evidence. To be clear, yes, motorcyclists can make mistakes. But that’s the same as normal drivers. In fact, in my experience, motorcyclists tend to be safer drivers.

So regardless of what happened here, I’m curious to know what all investigators have looked into so far. If they’ve covered all the bases and let the evidence speak for itself, that would be good to hear. That’s just not the sort of thing I’d ever take for granted without seeing the evidence myself.
