El Paso County, TX — December 3, 2024, Joshua Girard and another were injured following a car accident at around 11:45 p.m. on Alameda Avenue.
According to initial details about the crash, it happened off the corner of the Alameda Avenue and Herring Road intersection.
It appears that 21-year-old Joshua Girard was a passenger in a Kia Rio traveling northeast on Herring Road at the time. While doing so, the vehicle somehow lost control in the area of Alameda. The vehicle crashed as a result.
Due to the accident, Girard and the driver of the vehicle had reportedly serious injuries. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident. No further information is currently available.

Single-vehicle accidents can sometimes be unique in that police departments don’t always treat them as a high priority. It would shock people how often I come across police investigations where officers moved on without getting the whole story or simply jumped to conclusions without considering all the facts. Did the vehicle have defects? Did a tire blowout? Was the driver unlawfully over-served by an alcohol provider? Did the roadway have design issues or missing signage or lighting? Likely or not, a proper accident reconstruction should be able to answer these kinds of questions. So if authorities aren’t able to come up with satisfactory answers, then there could be important details that slipped through the cracks.
