Denton County, TX — December 2, 2022, Joseph Mark Sims was killed and a woman was injured following a two-vehicle car accident along Main Street in Lewisville.
Investigators said that the incident happened at around 6:11 p.m. along FM 1171/Main Street off the corner of Summit Avenue.

Details suggest that 67-year-old Joseph Mark Sims was in a Toyota Tacoma traveling eastbound along along Main Street. Doing so, the Tacoma crashed head-on into a westbound Chrysler Pacifica driven by a 57-year-old Flower Mound woman.
Due to the collision, Sims was killed. The other driver’s injuries were said to be incapacitating. Initial details suggest that the Tacoma was going the wrong direction, but additional details cannot be confirmed at this time.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
There are still details not clear surrounding this crash, but the possibility of a wrong way crash is very serious to look into. Some may focus too much on more common causes of wrong way accidents, but it’s important that nothing goes overlooked. There can sometimes be unusual circumstances to consider, and missing those details would only serve to harm the victims and families left to pick up the pieces. Hopefully authorities here have been thorough enough to consider things like mechanical issues, medical conditions, missing signage, road defects, or other less common possibilities.
