Randall County, TX — August 19, 2024, Jose Villalovos Jr. was injured as the result of a car accident at around 1:30 a.m. along Tangier Avenue.
According to initial statements from officials, the incident happened in the area of East Tangier Avenue and Madrid Street.
Investigators said that 37-year-old Jose Luis Villalovos Jr. was in a Ford F-150 going southwest along Tangier. The vehicle apparently veered off-road where it overturned through multiple objects. As a result, Villalovos was seriously injured. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident.

Something I talk about a lot with single-vehicle wrecks is how important it is to take them with a grain of salt. Frankly, there are a lot of possible factors which could be involved that even authorities can overlook. In fact, I’ve even had cases where there were extenuating factors even the victim didn’t know about, such as a case from not long ago where a victim’s injuries were caused by a defective seatbelt.
It’s possible authorities were thorough enough not to let anything important slip through the cracks, but that’s not something they generally prioritize. If there were extenuating circumstances to consider here, that may not be apparent with anything short of more thorough independent investigations.
