How Did This Accident Occur?
This crash seems pretty straight forward, but it still warrants an investigation to prove the accident unfolded as initial reports indicate. From there, the investigation becomes about determining if anyone else should be held accountable for this crash south of Centerville.
Was the truck speeding to meet a looming deadline set by the driver’s employer? Or was it experiencing unexpected acceleration because of a mechanical issue, one that should have been fixed before the truck hit the road?
These questions likely are beyond the scope of most law enforcement agencies, based on my experience in commercial vehicle cases, so an independent investigation may be necessary.
