UPDATE (October 10, 2024): Further information from authorities identified the man killed in the accident as 63-year-old Jose Luis Rocha. 62-year-old Lorena Gonzalez Rocha was injured in the accident. While no charges or citations have been reported, details suggest authorities identified the vehicle involved in the accident. Usually, that means authorities are able to identify and eventually hold accountable a runaway driver. But that still leaves the matter of finding out why they fled in the first place and whether or not there are additional mistakes that require consequences. Hopefully investigations are still ongoing.
San Antonio, TX — September 23, 2024, a man was killed and a woman was injured following a hit-and-run accident at around 2:00 a.m. along I-10.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened along main lanes of the interstate in the area of Boerne Stage Road.
Investigators said that a man and a woman were in a vehicle which apparently broke down along the interstate. The pair were outside of the vehicle attempting to push it off the roadway when it appears a grey pickup crashed into them, then fled. As a result, the man was killed. The woman had unspecified injuries.

Police say they have yet to locate the runaway vehicle. Hopefully they can keep up pressure in the public eye. Oftentimes, someone in the community is able to connect the dots and help authorities identify the suspect. Once that happens, they can find out why the driver fled and what consequences will be appropriate for the accident and for whatever led them to flee responsibility.
