Potter County, TX — September 28, 2024, Jose Najera Sr. was killed following a car accident that occurred at around 11:40 P.M. on US 87 SB.
An investigation is underway into a car accident that left one person dead during the late-night hours of September 28th. According to official reports, Jose Najera Sr. was on foot on the shoulder of southbound US 87 he was struck by a Chevy Silverado. Statements from officials suggest that the Chevy had just been involved in an accident whereby it lost control and travelled into the shoulder and struck Najera who was standing next a parked car at the time of the collision.
When first responders arrived on the scene, they found that Najera had sustained fatal injuries and would be declared deceased. At this time there has been no further information released from the accident, including whether any charges or citations will be filed.
