Fort Worth, TX — April 19, 2023, Jose Amaro was killed in a single-vehicle collision around 11:11 p.m. on Calmont Ave. in Fort Worth.
According to authorities, the victim was a passenger in a Chevy Suburban that was westbound. While navigating a curve, the Suburban purportedly crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a concrete wall on the south side of the road. The vehicle then allegedly stuck a telephone pole and began driving east when a tire popped. This reportedly forced the Suburban to veer towards its passenger side and struck a fence.
The driver of the Suburban reportedly then fled the accident scene on foot leaving two injured passengers behind. Mr. Amaro reportedly suffered fatal injuries and the second passenger purportedly suffered possible injuries.
Investigators have not released what factors led up to the accident.
