Austin, TX — April 9, 2023, Jorge Sanchez Villalobos was killed as the result of an accident where a vehicle hit him, then left the scene.
Authorities said that the incident happened just after 2:00 a.m. in the area of the 600 block of North Interstate 35. It appears that Jorge Luis Sanchez Villalobos was walking along the roadway when a blue Kia Forte struck him. That vehicle then left the scene. Sanchez Villalobos died as a result of the accident.
Beyond this, authorities have not finished their investigations.

My hope is that the images of the suspect vehicle released in the news will eventually lead to someone who can connect thew dots and ensure authorities get the information they need. These situations tend to resolve because the community remains vigilant until all the facts become clear. Once that happens, steps can be taken to do right by victim’s loved ones. In the meantime, anyone who knows more should come forward with that information and do whatever they can to help those affected by this horrible event.
