The Colony, TX — December 6, 2021, Jorge Rico Segovia was killed due to an accident involving a dump truck on a work site along Live Oaks Road.
Current details released by OSHA officials show that the company subject to their investigations was Kent Companies Texas, LLC. The address listed in regards to the accident is 4105 Live Oaks Road, which appears to be Live Oaks Logistics Park.
The preliminary OSHA investigation indicated that at around 8:00 a.m., 30-year-old Jorge Segovia was walking with a co-worker in the area of a construction site. While doing so, a dump truck backing down the road ran over Segovia. Due to this, Segovia sustained fatal injuries.
Details about the driver involved were not given in the reports. It’s unclear if that person was a co-worker for the same company as Segovia. The OSHA statements at this time show three potential violations that were investigated. At least one of them was labeled as “serious.” While it’s unclear if any official penalties were issued or resolved, the reports show a recommended penalty of $3,315. No further information is available at this time.
