Winkler County, TX — June 22, 2024, Jonathan Lopez was injured following a truck accident shortly before 4:30 a.m. along State Highway 18.
According to authorities, 25-year-old Jonathan Lopez was traveling in a northbound Audi on S.H. 18 in the vicinity of the Farm to Market 874 intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, a westbound 18-wheeler on F.M. 874 entered the intersection at an apparently unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way to highway traffic at a stop sign. This resulted in a collision between the front-end of the 18-wheeler and the front-right side of the Audi. The collision also led to the 18-wheeler overturning, coming to a stop resting on its left side.
Lopez suffered reportedly severe injuries due to the collision; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
