Colorado County, TX — April 11, 2024, John Wyant was injured in a car accident at approximately 6:30 a.m. along Farm to Market 109.

According to authorities, 50-year-old John Wyant was traveling in a westbound Hyundai Santa Fe on F.M. 109 in the vicinity north of Columbus when the accident occurred.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, an eastbound Chevrolet 3500 truck attempted to pass another eastbound vehicle in a no passing zone, entering the westbound lane of traffic at an apparently unsafe time. This resulted in a collision between the truck and the oncoming Santa Fe. The wreck caused the Santa Fe to veer off of the north side of the roadway where it also crashed into a fence before coming to a stop.

Wyant suffered reportedly severe injuries as a result of the accident. He was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
