Accident Report
March 12, 2026, one person was killed and John Griffin was injured in a car accident at approximately 1:45 p.m. along Little York Road.
According to authorities, 66-year-old John griffin was traveling in a westbound Nissan Titan on Little York Road in the vicinity west of the Cunningham Road intersection when the accident took place. It was apparently attempting a left turn into a private drive. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, a collision occurred between the Titan and an eastbound Chevrolet Suburban occupied by a 34-year-old man from Houston. A northbound Chevrolet Express was also involved in the wreck, according to reports.
The man who had been behind the wheel of the Suburban reportedly sustained fatal injuries over the course of the accident. Griffin suffered serious injuries, as well. It does not appear that anyone from the Chevrolet Express was hurt.
Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Due to the fact that reports state that the Nissan failed to yield to oncoming traffic on a left turn, people will be quick to assume this to be a simple, open-and-shut case. However, I’ve been in this line of business for over thirty years. I’ve learned that there really is no such thing as a simple car accident. Each one is layered, and investigators should be looking deeper than surface evidence at the crash scene in order to find out everything that played a role in the wreck.
To be clear, I do not know more about this specific wreck than anyone else outside of the investigation. I’m just suggesting a hypothetical. What if the Suburban’s brakes failed—either totally or partially—at the time of the wreck? If that were the case, it’s possible that—had they been working properly—the collision could have been avoided.
This is just one example of an underlying mechanical failure that might have played a role. In order to rule it—and any other possible failures or product defects—out, then an in-depth vehicle inspection needs to be done in a laboratory setting by someone who is experienced and qualified. These types of inspections are not routinely done in most car accident investigations, so a special request might have to be made. If the authorities fail take that step, then a third party investigation can always get it done, instead.
This type of thorough, meticulous, and open-minded investigation is what will lead investigators to the answers deserved by the people affected by this wreck. Do you have any thoughts to add concerning this accident? Leave a comment below letting me know what you think.
