Austin, TX — April 21, 2024, John Brittingham was injured in a hit-and-run car accident shortly before 6:30 p.m. along Research Boulevard.

According to authorities, 37-year-old John Brittingham was traveling in a southbound Kia Optima on Research Boulevard in the vicinity west of Anderson Square when the accident took place.

Traffic conditions in the area at the time were allegedly slowing. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Kia was rear-ended by a vehicle of unknown make or model. The rear-ending vehicle reportedly fled the scene, the person(s) inside failing to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim.

Brittingham reportedly suffered severe injuries as a result of the wreck; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
