Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Right now, authorities allege that the Chevy driver had been drinking and recommended charges for DWI. If that’s true, then this isn’t the time of day most people would expect to see a drunk driving crash. But I’ve been litigating personal injury cases involving drunk drivers for over 30 years. Simply put, it happens at all times of day. There are plenty of restaurants, sports bars, liquor stores, grocery stores, and other establishments just as willing to over-serve customers during there day as there are bars and clubs late at night. For that reason, authorities should be just as motivated to find out where an alleged drunk driver in the afternoon got their alcohol as they should be after a crash at 2:30 a.m. There may be more than just a sole drunk driver responsible for what happened here.
