UPDATE (September 13, 2024): Recent reports have been reported which clarify some of the details as to what occurred leading up to and during this accident. According to these reports, four people—38-year-old Obed Longoria, 93-year-old Jesus Villezcas Carrazco, a 60-year-old woman, and a 65-year-old man—were traveling in an eastbound Toyota Sienna on I.H. 10. Officials state that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Sienna was rear-ended by a Mercedes occupied by a 36-year-old man. Due to the impact, both vehicles apparently lost control and ended up crashing into concrete barriers and catching on fire.
Carrazco, who was unable to exit the Sienna, suffered fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. Longoria, the other two occupants of the Sienna, and the man from the Mercedes all sustained injuries of unknown severity, as well. Those who necessitated it were transported for medical treatment. No additional details are currently available. The investigation remains ongoing.
El Paso, TX — August 30, 2024, one person was killed and another was injured in a car accident sometime in the early morning hours along I.H. 10.
According to authorities, the accident took place in the eastbound lanes of Interstate Highway 10 in the vicinity of Redd Road.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a collision took place between two motor vehicles. One of the people involved suffered reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the wreck and was declared deceased at the scene. Another victim sustained critical injuries, according to reports; they were transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of the victims—are not available at this point in time.
