El Paso, TX — June 2, 2024, Jesus Manuel Huerta was killed following a car accident at approximately 3:30 p.m. along Loop 375 East.
According to authorities, the accident took place in the vicinity of Loop 375 East and Midway Drive.
Officials indicate that 69-year-old Jesus Manuel Huerta was in a van that was going along Loop 375. The vehicle apparently veered onto the median where it crashed into a pole. This caused the van to catch on fire. Due to the accident, Huerta ultimately succumbed to fatal injuries. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident.

One thing that always concerns me with single-vehicle wrecks is whether or not authorities give them they attention they deserve. They tend to be very narrow in their scope, and it can lead them to jump to conclusions or miss important details. Even in situations where a mistake may have led to the crash, there could be extenuating circumstances. For example, have experienced accident reconstructionists determined why the vehicle caught fire? While it’s often a natural result of a serious crash, it can sometimes be the cause of a flaw with the vehicle, which sometimes makes an otherwise survivable crash turn fatal.
