UPDATE (June 2, 2023): Authorities released more information clarifying some factors surrounding the accident that killed Jerod Durst. According to officials, Jerod Durst was in a Cadillac that was going southbound along the exit ramp from U.S. Highway 287 toward Loop 820. For reasons not yet confirmed, the vehicle went off the side of the road where it crashed. As a result, Durst succumbed to fatal injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Fort Worth, TX — April 23, 2023, Jerod Durst was fatally injured as the result of a single-vehicle accident that happened at around 12:28 a.m. on E. Loop 820.
Tarrant County and Fort Worth Police Department officials released preliminary information about the accident. They say it took place along 4902 East Loop 820 South Freeway in the area of the U.S. Highway 287 interchange.

The exact information about what led to the accident is unavailable at this time. It’s not clear what type of accident it was, either, though authorities described it as a “major accident.” Due to that accident, officials say that 53-year-old Jerod Durst sustained blunt force injuries. Those injuries ultimately proved fatal. Details show Durst was pronounced deceased about an hour later at a local hospital.
