Harris County, TX — June 17, 2023, Jerlinda Vanzant was killed following a car accident at around 5:30 a.m. along Spring Cypress Road.
Preliminary details provided by the Harris County Sheriff’s Department indicated that the crash happened in the area of Spring Cypress Road and Kuykendahl Road.
Initial statements about the crash say that Jerlinda Latissha Vanzant was in a Lincoln Navigator that apparently stalled out along the eastbound lanes of Spring Cypress Road. Details suggest the Lincoln may have lost power, leaving the vehicle in the roadway without any lights on. While it was there, police say that a Nissan Sentra approaching the Lincoln swerved to avoid it, but the Nissan ended up hitting Vanzant, who reportedly got out of the stalled vehicle and was standing nearby.
As a result of this collision, Vanzant sustained fatal injuries. Right now, there is no indication of anyone else sustaining injuries. No charges or citations have been reported at this time, and additional details are pending further investigations.
