Dallas County, TX — April 20, 2024, Jerid Harms and two others were injured in a car accident at approximately 6:30 p.m. along U.S. Highway 175.

According to reports, the weather and road conditions in the area at the time were rainy and wet. 43-year-old Jerid Harms was outside of the Nissan Frontier pickup truck he had been occupying because it had recently hydroplaned and become stuck on the right shoulder of the highway in the vicinity east of Simonds Road.

Officials indicate that an eastbound Honda Civic also hydroplaned, causing the vehicle to lose control. It reportedly went into a spin and veered off of the right side of the road, resulting in a collision with Harms and the pickup truck.

Harms incurred reportedly severe injuries as a result of the accident. Two teen boys who had been in the Civic—ages 16 and 18—sustained moderate injuries, as well. All three victims were transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
