UPDATE (July 16, 2024): Recent reports have been released which clarify some of the details of what happened over the course of this accident. According to these reports, 19-year-old Jennifer Manriquez-Ramirez was traveling in a Mercedes-Benz on the eastbound service road for U.S. Highway 290 in the vicinity east of Eastern Heights Boulevard when, for as yet unknown reasons, it failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It veered to the left, partially leaving the roadway and leading to a collision with the end of a guardrail. This collision caused the Mercedes-Benz to go into a counter-clockwise spin, its front-end colliding with the base of a concrete pillar before ricocheting out into the active lanes of the roadway again. There, it was apparently involved in a collision with another vehicle which failed to stay at the scene. No further details are currently available. The investigation is still ongoing.

Manriquez-Ramirez suffered reportedly critical injuries due to the crash; she was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment.
