Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

With single-vehicle wrecks, my concern is always whether or not it’s getting the attention it deserves. Frankly, authorities don’t often prioritize single-vehicle wrecks, which can result in them conducting investigations that are incomplete or that miss complex or uncommon possible factors. If something like a defect, for example, led to the crash, that might not ever come to light unless independent investigators are able to ensure evidence doesn’t slip through the cracks. Perhaps authorities here have been more thorough than usual, but it’s definitely not something I’d take for granted.
