Lake County, IN — July 30, 2023, Jennifer Benton was killed and one person was injured following a truck accident at around 10:00 a.m. along I-65.
Preliminary details about the accident say that it happened along southbound lanes of the interstate in the area of 61st Avenue.
According to initial statements about the crash, 37-year-old Jennifer Benton was in a Honda that was going southbound along the interstate. The Honda was attempting to exit, authorities say, when it crashed into a semi-truck that had pulled over in the “gore area.”
As a result of the collision, Benton sustained fatal injuries. Another occupant in the vehicle with Benton, unidentified at this time, had non-life-threatening injuries. There were no other confirmed injuries. At this time, no further information about the crash is available.
