Denton County, TX — January 30, 2025, a worker was killed as the result of an electrocution accident at around 11:20 a.m. along McMakin Road.
Preliminary details about the accident say that it happened in an area off the corner of McMakin Road and Broome Road.
Exact circumstances are unavailable at this time. Officials say that the victim was doing utility work at the time. Somehow, the worker was electrocuted. There were no other reported injuries resulting from the accident.

With any work accident, there are going to be unique challenges to consider. People tend to just assume OSHA will cover everything, but that’s not how things work. OSHA has their own priorities, and that doesn’t necessarily align with a family getting answers or a fair resolution. In fact, Texas has the most complex work fatality laws of any other state in the country. That takes serious experience and legal strategy to overcome, so a victim’s loved ones are best served not waiting around for officials who may not have their best interests in mind to begin with.
