Martin County, TX — May 24, 2023, Javier Delucas-Gutierrez was killed as the result of a semi-truck accident at approximately 4:53 p.m. on Highway 137.
Initial details released about the fatal crash say that it happened in the area of mile marker 314 along northbound lanes of the highway.
Currently, statements from authorities suggest that 67-year-old Javier Delucas-Gutierrez was the driver of a Ford F-150 that was going along Highway 137. For reasons yet to be confirmed, the pickup crashed with a “slow-moving” vehicle before then crashing with an oncoming semi-truck.
As a result of the collision, Delucas-Gutierrez sustained critical injuries, to which he succumbed following air transport to a Midland hospital. No other injuries were reported by authorities. They have not yet confirmed any potential factors contributing to the crash.
