Seminole, OK — June 21, 2025, a child was injured due to an explosion accident which happened Saturday afternoon at the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum.
According to preliminary reports about the accident, it happened at the museum located at 1714 W Wrangler Boulevard.

It appears that at the time, a 4-year-old child was by an exhibit which involved roasting foot using a propane grill with an open flame. While that was happening, current reports say that hand sanitizer which was too close to the fire ruptured, resulting in an explosion.
The 4-year-old involved was taken to a hospital, reportedly with severe burns. It’s unclear if any others were harmed by the explosion. Investigations continue.

Everyone no doubt has the same question I do: How was this allowed to happen? With anything involving children, there should be strict procedures in place to make sure the children are as safe as reasonably possible. That should even more explicit when dealing with something as dangerous as an open flame. So not only does there need to be an understanding of what happened here, but there also needs to be answers about how this was allowed to happen and whether or not there will be accountability to ensure this never happens again.
