Wichita Falls, TX — June 24, 2023, James Whitmer IV was killed as the result of a pedestrian accident at around 4:30 a.m. along Southwest Parkway.
Authorities said they were called out to the area of 6300 Southwest Parkway, which appears to be near Allendale Road just off U.S. 277/82.
Right now, there is no confirmed cause for the fatal crash. It appears that James Whitmer IV, a Texas Tech student, was along Southwest Parkway. For reasons unclear, authorities believe that Whitmer was hit by a vehicle. Authorities did not say what Whitmer was doing at the time or whether or not the vehicle involved stayed at the scene.
As a result of the accident, Whitmer succumbed to fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported. No drivers have been publicly identified. There are no pending charges or citations mentioned in current reports. Investigations continue.
