Dallas, TX — July 19, 2025, James Watkins was killed as the result of an alleged hit-and-run accident at around 3:47 a.m. on Dolphin Road.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened at the intersection Dolph Road, Military Parkway, and Haskell Avenue.
According to officials, James Watkins was on foot at the time in the area of Dolphin Road. A vehicle going southbound reportedly struck Watkins, then left the accident scene. James Watkins reportedly died due to the accident.
There’s no indication right now of whether or not authorities identified the runaway driver. Investigations continue.

My hope is that authorities are going to continue putting information out to the public until the runaway driver is found. The community is one of the best tools authorities have in these situations. Someone may be able to come forward with new information that helps authorities make an arrest and get closure for the victim’s loved ones.
