Houston, TX — August 6, 2023, James Early Lauderdale was possibly injured following an alleged hit-and-run accident after midnight along Cullen Boulevard.
Houston and Harris County officials reported details showing the collision happened at approximately 12:57 a.m. at the intersection of Cullen Boulevard and South Loop 610.
According to current statements, 44-year-old James Earl Lauderdale was walking at the time and attempted to cross over Cullen. While walking across southbound lanes, authorities allege that a BMW 3 Series hit Lauderdale. That vehicle then allegedly left the scene.
Lauderdale was listed as having possible injuries, though Harris County officials say in a charging instrument that the alleged runaway driver faces a charge of failure to stop and render aid for an accident that “resulted in and that was reasonably likely to result in bodily injury to” Lauderdale.
