When it comes to hit-and-runs, it’s important authorities find out why the driver left the scene. It’s rare (though still possible) for a driver to flee just because they’re scared about the accident itself. More often, drivers flee because there’s something else they don’t want authorities to know about. Were they drunk? Did they have drugs? Do they have warrants? Was the vehicle stolen? At the end of the day, a deadly accident like this calls for accountability, and the victim’s loved ones deserve to know the one who wronged them is going to face consequences.
