Liberty County, TX — August 1, 2024, James Carroll was killed following a motorcycle versus car accident at approximately 9:15 p.m. along U.S. Highway 90.

According to authorities, 33-year-old James Carroll was traveling on an eastbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle on U.S. 90 at the F.M. 1009 intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a southbound Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck in the crossover median of the highway failed to yield the right of way at a yield sign, attempting to cross the eastbound lanes of the highway and head south on F.M. 1009 at an apparently unsafe time. This resulted in a T-bone collision between the front-end of the motorcycle and the right side of the pickup.

Carroll suffered critical injuries as a result of the wreck; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment. However, he was ultimately unable to overcome the severity of this injuries, having there been declared deceased. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
