Dallas, TX — July 1, 2023, James Lee Bernard III and a 1-year-old were killed and a woman was injured after a car accident at 2:45 a.m. on Grand Avenue.
Authorities reported that the incident happened at around 2:45 a.m. in the area of the Grand Avenue and Tenison Parkway, north of I-30.

According to Dallas Police officials, 25-year-old James Lee Bernard III, a 22-year-old woman, and a 1-year-old child were in a car that was traveling along Grand Avenue. For reasons which are unclear, the vehicle left its lane and struck the curb. this sent the vehicle off-road where it crashed into a tree.
Due to the collision, both Bernard and the child in the car sustained fatal injuries. The woman was taken to a hospital with injuries that were described as serious. No one else was reportedly injured in the accident. It’s unclear if any other vehicles were involved in the crash. Currently, no further information can be confirmed.
