Odessa, TX — May 3, 2024, James Allen Thompson was killed as the result of a motorcycle accident at around 6:00 p.m. on Dixie Boulevard.
Preliminary information about the accident says that it happened in the area of North Dixie Boulevard and East 45th Street.
According to officials, 43-year-old James Thompson was on a Suzuki motorcycle going southbound along Dixie. The motorcycle somehow left the right side of the road where it hit a street sign. Due to the collision, Thompson was fatally injured. It did not appear that anyone else was involved in the accident.

A big challenge with accidents like these is simply ensuring authorities gave them the attention they deserved. I can’t count how many times I’ve had families call me about an accident where evidence ultimately came to light showing authorities blamed a responsible, safe driver for an accident involving factors outside of their control. Road hazards, tire blowouts, poor lighting or signage, mechanical defects—common or not, it’s important to at least rule out these possible factors. Otherwise, it can leave victims’ loved ones wondering if they’re really getting the whole story.
