Harris County, TX — April 6, 2024, Ivana Delgado was injured following a single-vehicle car accident at around 2:00 a.m. on West Lake Houston Parkway.
Investigators said in preliminary statements that the accident happened near the intersection of West Lake Houston Parkway and Madera Run Parkway.
According to officials, 23-year-old Ivana Delgado was in a Chevy Spark going southbound on Lake Houston. The vehicle somehow ended up going off the right side of the road where it crashed into a light pole. As a result, Delgado sustained what were described as serious injuries. No one else appeared to be involved.

Authorities mentioned the possibility of issues with the vehicle’s tires, but they did not say anything about if they investigated a possible defect. Frankly, it would be more surprising if they did. Authorities are rarely trained or equipped to examine tires or other parts that may cause a crash due to a defect. It usually takes more thorough independent investigations to rule out or confirm something like that. If authorities here were more thorough behind the scenes and did do a proper investigation, it would certainly be the exception.
